Nicole Martin
Comms consultant
Nicole brings over 20 years of experience from across journalism and strategic communications. She spent a decade as a reporter at the Daily Telegraph before moving into communications, both in-house and at leading agencies. Until December 2024, she was Head of Media for the global children's charity Theirworld, where she led the charity's external communications. She now advises a range of charities and non-profits on their media strategies. Her skill is in helping organisations identify and tell stories that generate media attention, influence public opinion and drive change.

Maya Oppenheim
Media consultant
Maya Oppenheim is an author, freelance journalist, and experienced public speaker. Formerly Women’s Correspondent at The Independent—the first and only person to hold this title at a UK news outlet—she spent over six years covering stories on human rights, sexual violence, domestic abuse, health, and the criminal justice system. Maya is the author of The Pocket Guide to the Patriarchy, endorsed by Amnesty UK, Angela Rayner, and Olivia Colman. Now freelance after nine years at The Independent, she has written for The Observer, Cosmopolitan, The Times, VICE, Mashable, The i, and others.

Cara Ghoshal
Creative consultant
Cara is creative, digital content producer and project manager. Passionate about telling great stories in engaging and exciting ways, she was previously head of content at global children's charity Theirworld working on their award-winning campaigns, and has worked with third sector organisations big and small including the British Red Cross, WWF and London & Partners. She develops content from ideation to delivery, drawing on her pool of trusted crew to provide a full-service production or working directly with in-house teams. Having been in-house at an NGO she is experienced navigating the barriers these organisationsface, from working internationally to consent sensitivities.

Tom Parry
Media consultant
Tom Parry is an award-winning international journalist with over 20 years' experience covering social affairs, the environment and humanitarian issues. A former Daily Mirror Special Correspondent, his work now appears in outlets including the Daily Telegraph's Global Health Security pages. He has reported from across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central America. Tom has won major awards including at the British Journalism Awards and Italy’s Premio Luchetta. He is also a non-fiction author, media trainer for charities such as Save the Children and the Red Cross, a legal copywriter, and a Visiting Lecturer at City, University of London.
